“La Voz” is the Spanish adaptation of the hit Dutch format “The Voice,” a world-renowned hit talent show that has become one of the most popular shows on today’s audiovisual scene. Boomerang TV has been producing the ITV Studios format in Spain since its premiere in 2012.

The show has been airing on Antena 3 since 2019 and is hosted by Eva Gonzalez. Throughout the past ten years, major national and international artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Juanes, Laura Pausini, Luis Fonsi, Malú, Melendi, Rosario, David Bisbal, Paulina Rubio, Manuel Carrasco, Antonio Orozco, Pablo López, and Pablo Alborán have sat in the judges’ chairs on “La Voz.” These celebrity coaches have been charged with evaluating the tremendous talent of the hundreds of artists who have participated in the show in hopes of being chosen our country’s best Voice.

“The Voice” format is the most successful musical talent show in the world, and each season incorporates new features that make it even more exciting and competitive.

How does “The Voice” Work?

The show is divided into various phases:

In the Blind Auditions a hundred talents who have participated in a strenuous casting process perform before the judges on the set of “The Voice.” Only the judges cannot see the candidates perform, as they all sit with their backs turned to the stage. While they listen to each candidate, the judges have the option of pushing a button to swivel their chair around and discover the person behind the voice that has captivated them and try to get them to join their team.
In the Battles each coach has a team of various artists selected during the Blind Auditions and has to decide which team members will compete against each other and how to group their talents to sing various genres and styles in a series of battles. During this stage, the coaches must keep their best team members so that they can move on to the next stage: the Knockouts.

This new stage, the Knockouts, will determine which talents go straight to the Live Shows on “The Voice.”  The assistant coaches will help the coaches make this decision.  This stage includes the final Knockout Round, where the coaches choose together with the audience which contestants will go on to the Live Shows on “The Voice.”

The winner of “The Voice” will be decided during the Live Shows.   During the Semi Finals, the teams disappear and the telephone vote begins, showing the ranking of the audience’s favorite talents to go on to the finals and proclaim themselves the best voice of the country.

During the Finals, the audience will decide the winner of this edition.
