Julio Salgado, an eminent neurologist at the peak of his success, breaks with his past by renouncing material things and leaves in search of a more humanized life. He retires to a small mountain village and rents a house owned by Ana Alonso, who, after being abandoned by her husband and with a ten-year-old son, Mario, has been forced to set up a business she has no idea about, in order to survive and pay her numerous debts. 

They live at Anton's house, a good man, but so old-fashioned that he does not understand anything of what is going on in today's world. Julio will not take long to confront Eduardo, who with his influence and money has subdued half the town. The newcomer is the first person who stands up to him, who does not allow himself to be bribed and who, in addition, conquers Ana, a woman with whom Eduardo is in love.

In the town, there is a Youth Center specialized in the reeducation of troubled minors who have not yet committed a crime. They are just kids who have lacked a second chance in life and for whom Silvia, a young educator, fights.
