“La chica de ayer” is a BBC format produced by Boomerang TV in Spain. 

A policeman from 2009, Samuel Santos, “travels” back in time to 1977. The “clash” with the Spain of the transition allows us to discover how we were then. The series is the protagonist's search for his roots and loved ones; it is the struggle of a man trapped in time; and, above all, it is the love story of a man from 2009 and a woman from 1977, two totally different people united by an accident.

Samuel Santos is an ambitious and determined Chief Inspector in the 21st century police force, who works with determination, intelligence and courage to clean the streets of Madrid of crime. After suffering a terrible accident, he wakes up confused in 1977, having gone back 32 years in time. He will have to work in a team of old-fashioned policemen, who, logically, do not have the modern preparation to investigate cases, and he will have to face the machismo, homophobia, etc., of the time.
